It’s been a while

What can I say? Things have been, uh, crazy. Yeah, crazy. In all honesty, I’ve just neglected the blog this past month and a half, and hopefully not that things are starting to wind down with school I’ll have time to post more often than the rate I’ve been keeping up lately. The major thing I should note that I really should have blogged about is my getting my very first Mac (!!), a 20-inch (oh yeah) iMac Core Duo. How do I even begin? It’s an absolutely amazing machine, and I only wish that I’d documented my discoveries during the first couple days of use, but then again it’s not like it’s been that long since I’ve had it. Soon to follow will be the prerequisite to owning a Mac: my Top 10 apps 🙂

Another week gone by?

Well, once again I’ve failed to post anything since last week, but I have a kinda-sorta solution: I’ve added an RSS feed of all the recent stories I’ve dugg over at This way, you can see things I’m interested in, and possibly topics of interest to you!

Hopefully I’ll be able to post more, but I just haven’t had the time. More to come soon–maybe.

To be or not to be, have I any readers?

It’s funny. Actually it’s not. Nonetheless, it really hasn’t bothered me that I’ve gotten no comments (and I’m guessing as a result no readers)  thus far since I’ve had this WordPress blog. However, it should be noted that I’ve been posting in this since just this past Tuesday. Interestingly, there are blog stats within this implementation of WordPress, and it says I’ve had 17 views. It should be noted that the blog stats are in beta, and for another thing, I’m guessing that it doesn’t mean 17 people, but rather 17 views, most likely all of them by myself. Anyway, I figure that although this blog is public and anyone can read it, I’m really writing in this for my own personal pleasure and satisfaction. If I wanted to vent all of my emotion into some sort of diary, I wouldn’t post online, and I would probably write in a boring old “analog” diary. So, dear readers (should I have any),  if you are reading this  could you  leave a comment so I know that I have at least a single reader? That is, of course, only if you  want to.

I’m Henry, and this is my blog. Over the past couple months I’ve been experimenting with several different blogging systems and website creation tools. To narrow it down in the broadest sense, although ‘homepages’ are nice, updating the content can be tiresome work if you’re creating by hand. So, after creating (and handcoding) several ‘homepages’ I decided a blog was most suitable for me, in addition to do the fact that should you want to, you can also add static pages. But then came the hard part: deciding which tool to use. The Google query ‘create a blog’ yields approximately 283,000,000 results, so finding the best system to use up until recently proved to be a difficult task. In the end, I decided to go with an open source solution, WordPress, and host it with a free, ad supported service. This didn’t work out. Various components didn’t work, it was unreliable and it was ad-supported. But none of this was WordPress’ fault, and I knew that. This was when I found It seems the wonderful folks over at were not content with just building a ‘state-of-the-art semantic publishing system’; they wanted to offer free hosting too. Ad-free hosting. The deal seemed too good to be true, but as you read these very words on my blog, you can see it isn’t. After months of toiling away writing bad HTML, finally I’ve discovered blogging Nirvana, and without further a do, here’s your host Henry!

My name is Henry and I enjoy listening to The Rush Limbaugh Show and counting in prime numbers. Not.
